Old town,
It is a few brief brushstrokes of the part with the most history of the city of Valencia.
Although in principle it should have been a series of photographs of the Almudín, for technical health reasons this emblematic place remains closed until the municipal authorities decide to reopen it.
These are a few photographs of the adjacent streets of the Old Town of the city.
Valencia was founded by the Romans as a colony in 138 BC. C., being consul Tenth June Bruto Galaico, and was named Valentia Edetanorum.
Several centuries later, in the year 711, the Muslims occupied the city, contributing their language, religion and customs, such as the introduction of irrigation systems and the introduction of new crops.

The Arabs called it مدينة التراب (Madīna at-Turab, 'City of sand'), because it is located on the bank of the Turia River,
while they reserved the term بلنسية (Balansīa) for the entire taifa of Valencia.
In the time of Abd al-Aziz, the city recovered the name Balansīa, which would become Valencia in Spanish.

Given the impossibility of the municipal authorities to photograph the Almudín
(The Almudín is a building made in the Valencian Gothic style that was built on the Muslim fortress at the beginning of the 14th century as a place for storing and selling wheat)
This is one of the sites with the most history in the city of Valencia, where its Arab roots are combined with other religious faiths, making Valencia a
crucible of cultures and heritage.
Here, Muslims, Jews and Castilians born in this City State coexisted in harmony, as a result of the union of these deep-rooted cultures.
As I say, they have not allowed me to take those photos for technical, social and health issues, here I bring you a few photographs of that old town in the city of Valencia
Brushstrokes of Romanesque, Gothic, Plateresque or Modernist Art.
Its Historic Quarter is one of the largest in Spain, thanks to its historical and monumental heritage and its various scenic and cultural spaces make it one of the cities with the greatest influx of national and international tourism in the entire country.
Valencia, derives from the Latin term Valentia Edetanorum, which the Romans gave it when it was founded.
This name can be translated as 'Valor (or strength) in the land of the Edetan's (or simply as 'Valor of the Edetan's), and it is part of the custom, already practiced in Italy in the 2nd century BC. C., to found colonies with allegorical place names of military virtues.
Valencia is one of the largest, oldest and most important cities in Spain.
Founded by the Romans in 138 BC; It has a population of 809,267 inhabitants.
It is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, has beautiful beaches in the very center of the city and is visited throughout the summer, by a large number of tourists.

I hope this short tour of the Old town has been to your liking.
